EMDR Therapy

143217625Do you know where it’s coming from?

All that stress and anxiety… the jumpiness and the fear?

Sometimes, your mind or body responds to stress in weird ways, like your mind racing or a panic attack… and sometimes, it’s out of nowhere.

And when it hits, it’s hard to be present in your life, which affects your job and relationships.

Maybe you’ve heard the word before…

But you’ve never considered whether what you went through is “trauma.”

When most people think of trauma, they think of extreme events like war, natural disasters, or major bodily harm.

But trauma comes from “less dramatic” places, like being bullied in childhood, going through a breakup or divorce, or even observing a car accident.

722712925What you’re going through might be from past trauma.

When you go through something that exceeds your ability to cope, your mind and body go into survival mode, preparing for a fight or flight.

This trauma response gets lodged in your mind and body, so anything similar to the traumatic situation triggers it.

When that happens, your brain doesn’t know the difference between real life and that traumatic memory…

So, you react in the present according to that “survival response” created in your past.

EMDR can alleviate that trauma response.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) sounds complicated, but it’s a simple yet powerful process that will bring you relief.

EMDR uses eye movements (kind of like REM sleep when you’re dreaming) to help your brain and body release the physical and emotional charge of painful past memories.

I’ve done it myself, and I was astounded by the results! When we meet, I’ll tell you about my experience and share more about what’s happening in your brain with EMDR.

EMDR has helped many live better, fuller lives… and it can help you, too!
