Individual Therapy

331470764None of it’s helping…

The self-help programs…

Talking to friends or family…

Listening to countless audio books…

They all fall short.

Those nagging thoughts…

It’s like they’re on a loop in your head.

From the time you wake up to when you lie down at night to sleep, the same things, situations, or people course through your mind.

The stress, anxiety, and panic attacks make for a miserable way of life.

133574636Here’s the situation…

You have a life stressor that overwhelms your ability to be present in school, at work… even when you are driving from one place to the next.

You get a bit of relief when you’re busy or distracted…

But when your mind is free, it comes flooding back, making it impossible to focus. And because you can’t focus, you can’t get things done or fix your life.

The anxiety sets in, you seek distraction, and the vicious cycle repeats itself, landing you in a pit of despair.

It’s an illusion…

It seems like if you could just think about them long and hard enough, your problems would go away, and you could get back to “normal again.”

This overthinking is a survival skill you learned when you were young. You figured out that if you could mentally stay a few steps ahead of a troublesome situation, you could remain safe. If you could stay hyperaware and attentive, you could avoid being rejected, neglected, or pushed away by parents, caregivers, or friends.

But as you’ve gotten older, this “trick” either doesn’t work or leaves you so mentally and physically drained that you’re at the end of your rope.

1494959993Therapy helps you disrupt the cycle.

What if you could stop surviving and start living?

What if you could respond to your world intentionally instead of impulsively?

In individual therapy, you can explore how your “survival skills” might now be interfering more than helping in your life.

This is a safe place where you can reflect on how you’ve survived without constantly risk-assessing or thinking three steps ahead.

When we are sitting together…

You get to share with someone trained in having these conversations… and someone who knows what dealing with life stress is all about.

We’ll begin by taking a brief history of how you developed your skills and their purpose. We’ll identify what’s turned you into a human doing instead of a human being.

In our exploration, we’ll discuss how you deal with life stressors and how to get more satisfaction out of life.

With strong boundaries, you can be secure and confident, living authentically instead of being steered by how others perceive you.

The most fascinating thing about your behavior…

It’s not your specific problems; it’s how you address them.

You’ve been trying to find the answers on your own long enough!
